Overcoming Fear to Make Decisions
Your fear of making the wrong decision, wasting time, and disappointing God is keeping you stuck. This is the main way the enemy works: keeping you in fear so that you do not move at all. So, you spend all your time trying to figure out, “What am I going to do? What’s my purpose, God?” You don’t want to waste time because learning a new skill might take years, and you’re worried it might not be right for you. Getting stuck in this mindset prevents you from making any move at all.
Recognize the Enemy’s Tactics
Have you ever found yourself thinking so much that hours go by and you realize you’ve done nothing? That’s exactly how the enemy wants you to act—so caught up in deciding that you do not move at all. This is when fear holds you back, especially regarding decisions and the fear of wasting time.
Understand the Why
There’s something called a double positive, where you have two good choices and can’t decide which one to pick. Instead of focusing on the what, focus on the why behind your decision. The ideas and visions you have aren’t random; they have been given to you for a specific reason.
Steps to Take
Reflect and Pray
- 🤔 Reflect on the pros and cons of your decision to understand why you want to make it.
- 🙏 Take your thoughts back to God and pray for guidance and revelation.
Overcome the Fear of Wasting Time
Remember, God’s concept of time is different from ours. In the Bible, it sometimes took people 70 or even 100 years. Time is not an issue for God, so don’t let the fear of time hold you back. The valuable experiences during these periods shape you. Good things often need time to develop, just like slow-cooked meals.
If You’re Still Confused
If you’re still unsure, overwhelmed, or don’t know where to start, seek additional help. There are resources available that can help you break down your fear, understand its origins, and make informed decisions. For example, the ebook “Caught in Time” includes prayers and exercises to help you find clarity and peace in your decisions.
