Homemade Toothpaste Recipe
My husband and I ran out of toothpaste right before bed, so he went downstairs to make a fresh batch. Lucky is very precise with his measurements, ensuring the perfect consistency and taste every time.
He started by measuring out bentonite clay and adding it to a bowl with a tablespoon of water. Since we weren’t making a large batch, this was sufficient. He mixed the clay and water until smooth, accidentally breaking a spoon in the process.
Next, he measured out coconut oil and added it to the clay mixture, along with a teaspoon of baking soda. He thoroughly mixed the ingredients until everything was well combined.
Finally, he added the last two ingredients:
– Stevia for sweetness
– Peppermint essential oil for a minty flavor
We love our toothpaste quite minty, so he added a generous amount of essential oil before giving it one final mix and transferring the toothpaste to a glass container.
